Miss Maidstone Beauty Is Crowned Miss Kent

– The first Miss Great Britain final was watched by 4,300 people in a continuous downpour. The winner, chosen by the film star Michael Rennie, was an 18 year old Morecambe girl Lydia Reid, a civil service typist, who received a cup and a paltry prize (according to the local paper) of seven guineas as well as a swimsuit. Prize money increased over the years. For a historical view on the competition please visit – www.missgreatbritain.co.uk
Previous winner and owner Liz Fuller bought back once again the rights to Miss Great Britain and is looking forward to revolutionising the structure, format and taking Miss GB back into the hearts of the British public. Chloe Othen said ‘Liz is not only a great role model herself she understands better than most how difficult it is for girls to get that breakthrough. Liz is realistic, honest and very helpful in terms of providing feedback for everyone to better their chances’.
Chloe was crowned Miss Kent beating 20 others to the crown and has since been pursued by a number of top model agencies. Surprisingly Chloe has chosen to remain a free agent until after the final of Miss Great Britain so that she can concentrate on choosing appropriate assignments and castings.
The Grand Final of Miss Great Britain 2010 will be held in December in Western Super Mare at the new Grand Pier, taking Miss GB and UK beauty pageants back to their roots. More information is available on their website.
